Radiation protection items

from Wiroma by Lanz-Anliker AG

All of our radiation protection items are manufactured in our Rohrbach BE production facilities. You will find the full product range in our catalogue.

All items are available in different designs. You can select both the protective material and the material used for the outer shell.

The following radiation protection materials are available:

Lead vinyl: lead vinyl is a highly flexible protective material, consisting of 80% lead powder and 20% carrier material. Multiple layers of the protective material are incorporated into the radiation protection aprons. It has a structured surface, does not oxidise, gives off no fumes and the protective materials are encapsulated permanently.

X-Light©: X-Light material is characterised by its low weight. This material is also incorporated into the apron in multiple layers. In the case of X-Light, along with lead, other metals are incorporated into the product (barium and molybdenum). X-Light also has a structured surface, does not oxidise, gives off no fumes and the protective materials are permanently encapsulated.

Leadfree:  Leadfree is the only protective material that contains no lead. Here we are dealing with a highly flexible protective material, namely vinyl enhanced with metallic materials (barium, molybdenum, etc. - but no lead!). Again here, this protective material is incorporated into the protective aprons in multiple layers, has a structured surface, does no oxidise, emits no fumes and the protective material is permanently encapsulated. This protective material is the lightest of all of them.

We offer the following materials for the outer shell:

Nylon: traditionally processed nylon. Specially impregnated and treated to be antibacterial. This surface material offers optimal protection to the radiation protection material against mechanical damage, which could be caused by sharp objects or even animals' claws (veterinary sector). Betadine, blood, contrast agents and, to a certain extent, aggressive liquids can be removed easily with warm (max. 40°C) soapy water.

Magic ®: new, flexible, elastic and hard-wearing material. Betadine, blood, contrast agents and, to a certain extent, aggressive liquids can be removed easily with warm (max. 40°C) soapy water.

Our field sales team would be delighted to visit you and offer advice on selection of aprons.
